简介：<p>当了二十多年支书的刘老根（赵本山 饰）终于退休了，搬去城里大儿子家住得不大愉快，但也长了不少见识，决定回乡下发挥余热办度假村，小姨子丁香（高秀敏 饰）和小儿子二奎（郭铁城 饰）拦阻不过，只好由他去，对他颇有新意的丁香还成了他的左膀右臂，不过对城里来的帮手韩冰（王娟 饰）颇为忌惮，担忧她与刘老根的暧昧关系。一番操持之下，龙泉山庄顺利开业，面临培训、管理、营销推广等重重考验，村里的能人药匣子（范伟 饰）和大辣椒（李静 饰）相继加入创业队伍，村民也响应刘老根召集的集资大会，打开局面、越来越火的龙泉山庄更是引来一些乡长、科长的刁难，加上大家时不时发作的小农习气，刘老根的创业经历着前所未有的挑战……</p>…
