阿果和阿木带领骡子和花姑谨慎地行径在大凉山中，花姑感叹秀丽的山林景色，阿果说花姑和骡子永远是罗洪最尊贵的客人。一个彝族战士报告国民党追兵已到冕宁县城，众人加快脚步。可这一切都被站在高处的罗洪赤次看在眼里。阿木阿果等人发现吹出的口哨（暗号）得不到倮伍家支的巢齐部落回应，让大家小心。一直冷箭射出，众人发现这并不是倮伍的箭，迅速摆出攻击阵型，在众人掩护下，阿果带着骡子和花姑先行离开。邱排长率领着几十个红军战士在路上奔袭，队尾的苏科长尽力追着队伍跑得上气不接下气。草丛中冒出一缕缕炊烟，邱排长迅速指令众人卧倒隐蔽匍匐前进。一块草地上，四五个国军战士正在埋灶做饭，邱排长等人从草丛里蹿出，抢了他们的粮食。红军战士一边行军一边嚼着抢来的米饭，队伍的最后面红军战士押着国军俘虏跟着队伍快速奔跑着。泸定桥东头，邱排长等人发现敌人把泸定桥拆的只剩十三根铁链子，还用大火烧红了铁链。路程已过半，邱排长坚定地命令大家搜集木板，就算铺路死都要过桥。
