陆三金上任第一天就被盛秋月的儿子糊糊立了下马威，被绑在门廊上剪去其一头秀发。蔡八斗为了拍当家的马屁，赶忙说帅气，结果被众人按倒在地，剃了一个和尚头。陆三金气哼哼的召集众人开会。宣布第一单生意要和龙门镖局的死对头年掌柜做。众人纷纷表示反对。盛秋月解释道，当年佟掌柜走镖失败，作为多年好友的年掌柜连柱香都没有上便带着人上门来催债，且这么多年来一直逼迫众人，已经成为众人眼中十恶不赦的坏人，因此说什么也不能和他做生意。听完众人解释，陆三金却表示龙门镖局如果想恢复信誉，那么就一定要从哪跌倒从哪爬起来，所以第一单生意一定要和年掌柜做，说完就丢下错愕的众人出门谈生意去了。年掌柜和陆三金是老相识，但当陆三金说明来意，年掌柜却表示生意可以做，但是有个条件就是必须开除龙门镖局所有的老伙计。陆三金又是赔笑脸又是捏要捶腿，两人一番见招拆招，最后还是以老奸巨猾的年掌柜取胜告终。与此同时，龙门镖局里众人正在排练，盛秋月假意要回老家，以此来威胁陆三金不和年掌柜做生意。可没想到陆三金一回来二话没说就同意了盛秋月的要挟，盛秋月搬起石头砸自己的脚值得收拾着东西踏上返程。陆三金向众人解释说这是为了糊糊好，话还没说完，盛秋月就像什么事都没发生过一样厚着脸皮又跑了回来，并且绑架回来了年掌柜，还顺手在年掌柜家里留了张字条，说他和情妇私奔了。陆三金只得又向年掌柜赔罪，但是年掌柜顺杆爬，说要告他们绑架，并勒索他们3000两银子。请神容易送神难，众人和年掌柜几次较量都没能把年掌柜赶出去。最终陆三金只得给了年掌柜3000两银子，盛秋月冲动的又想找年掌柜算账，可是没想到年掌柜却和盘托出了事情的真相。
