第40集:牟子龙围困戚俊雄两个月

辛宁从悬崖上掉下来，正海挂在崖壁的树枝上，不幸被日军抓起来，戚俊雄对她严刑拷打，辛宁誓死不屈。辛如仆得知辛宁被抓，他来找谷崎谈判，要换回辛宁做人质，谷崎坚决不答应，让他说服辛宁带路去找牟子龙的八路军，就答应放了辛宁。

辛如仆来到牢房劝说辛宁，辛宁坚决不答应，辛如仆已经做好了周密的安排，只要辛宁给他们带路，牟子龙就会埋伏在必经之路上，把日军一网打尽，辛宁只好答应。牟子龙带人埋伏在草丛，看到日军的车队渐渐开近，他一声令下，战士们一起开枪，戚俊雄和伪军奋起反抗，牟子龙趁机把辛宁救出来。

上级研究决定，任命牟子龙为胶东军区独立师师长，常人杰为政委，牟子龙发现孙家四兄弟都参军了，他倍感欣慰，紧接着牟子龙发表了慷慨激昂的讲话，战士们备受鼓舞。独立师的士气大振，他们在对日作战中屡立战功。

转眼到了1945年8月15日，日本无条件投降，抗日战争宣告结束。牟子龙和战士们奔走相告，敲锣打鼓庆祝胜利。辛宁奉上级命令脱下军装，要奔赴新的工作岗位，临行前，她向牟子龙辞行，两个人拥抱告别。

戚俊雄带领伪军负隅顽抗，固守在一座小县城，牟子龙带领部队把县城围得水泄不通，整整两个月时间过去了，眼看戚俊雄就撑不住了，上级命令牟子龙带队伍去东北，牟子龙不甘心就此放弃，求领导再给他五天时间，争取拿下那座县城，领导只给他三天时间。戚俊雄一直等不来援军，他想弃城逃走，让副官给上峰写信。
