巡警来到爱国剧团，原来副队长就是吴多好，吴见朱在团内做事，公报私仇将剧团解散，并将物件，全部打碎。朱、莫、分、劳和水亦旋均失业，走投无路，后来众人来到电影公司投考演员，经过一番考试，结果水及朱两人被取录，导演力捧水，成为红星，而朱亦担任配角。朱只求两餐，不敢苛求。一日在一面档，朱与牛力再相遇，牛认为朱是老实人，愿助他成为大明星。牛派手下到导演处，逼令他用朱为主角。他初时不答允，牛用计，卒令导演用朱，并使他成为第一男主角，与水同是红星。花花公子罗白，来到易叔恭家中，说要拍电影，想捧蓉蓉为女主角，又借去易的三件古董，说是拍戏用的。后来易偕蓉到电影公司找罗，才知受骗。当时朱与水是红极一时的大明星，已拍了很多电影。易得悉，来到朱家找朱，朱见到蓉，极为开心，但水对朱极亲热，蓉因而大怒。一日，易安排朱及蓉看电影，刚好上映的是朱与水的戏，戏中朱、水甚为亲热，蓉妒火中烧，离座而去，朱追出戏院，却遇到一批影迷，硬缠着他要签名，朱脱身不得，惟有目送蓉蓉离去。
