心莲不谅陈社主要置阿陆于死地，与陈争执，义龙也十分不满社主暗箭伤人的行为，陈社主百般狡辩，却不小心撞倒了小六(胡兆俊 饰)留有血手印的椅子，义龙看到那暗红血色的猫头鹰，恍然大悟，杀人的凶手就在眼前。义愤填膺的他正要理论，警察赶至，以谋杀未遂罪名，逮捕了陈社主。汉斯(谢尔盖 饰)一把火烧了阿陆的仓库，损失惨重。此时伊娃(安娜 饰)忽然前来，打算给阿陆提供资金渡过难关，原来伊娃的如意算盘就是要与阿陆合作共同完成“羊城新世界”的商业计划，阿陆又一次感到机会来了，于是阿陆断然决定和伊娃合作。汉斯和马修(丹尼斯 饰)对伊娃的行为感到非常意外，准备和伊娃翻脸，没想到阿陆此时掌握了整个事件的主动权，一切都已经明了，阿陆已经可以和洋人平起平坐，共同合作了。宋威廉(马昌钰 饰)预见到了阿陆的成功,也预见到了将在商场与阿陆成为敌人。他眼见相当数量的一些小商号面临祖传家业被洋人财团收购的困境,心有不忍,出面为华商们解决倒悬之危。阿陆自然义不容辞,但苦于资金调集不易,威廉启发股市中有点石成金的机会,阿陆茅塞顿开,跃跃欲试。阿陆和龙舟得(关启祥 饰)巧遇心莲，原来她是为陈社主买药来的。阿陆说陈社主是罪有应得，引起心莲的反感，说无论如何陈社主也是自己的亲生父亲，他在牢里已经犯了心脏病，眼看就熬不住了。马修、汉斯和伊娃作最后的谈判，因为随着阿陆的成长，他们已经感到阿陆才是他们共同的敌人，于是一个新的阴谋又在他们心中酝酿。心莲来求阿陆放过陈社主，然而阿陆却觉得他罪有应得，连龙舟得也觉得心莲此次实在是过分，心莲委屈之极，含泪离去。陈社主越狱逃跑，恳求心莲的宽恕，心莲再次陷入困境。
