另一边，谢虎等人追踪着小刀留下的飞刀进入大山之中。当他们来到豁口，小刀的飞刀信号中断了，众人皆忧心小刀是否遇害了。这时，童赫娴和徐营长赶来。经过一番搜查众人发现往南的路上有很多杂乱的足迹和星形飞镖。谢虎等人果然上当了，因为敌人绝不会留下这么多足迹等着他们追踪。于是，谢虎等人选择了往西追……夜幕降临，小刀迟迟不见八路军的踪影，心知谢虎等人定是上当了。为了让坂原迷路，小刀偷走了中村身上的指南针。坂原怎么也想不到他们中间有一个身怀绝技的江洋大盗，只当中村粗心，把指南针弄丢了。小刀装出一副奴才样，主动提出给众人带路。其实小刀并不识路，但他却有着极强的方向感，即使阴霾的夜空连一颗星星也看不见，小刀仍能辨别出往西的方向……胜秣似有所察觉，但小刀以性命担保，绝对是在向南走。另一边，谢虎等人一路向西，追出一段路程后，谢虎越想越不对劲。那枚星形飞镖会不会是小刀留下的呢？！谢虎当机立断，改道向南……小刀一边带着坂原等人向西，一边寻找出逃的机会。在五名记者的强烈抗议下，众人终于暂停休息。由一命武士押着小刀去找寻野果充饥。小刀找来的野果都是那些吃完后会泻肚不止的果子，害得众武士和记者团的成员们都不停拉肚子。小刀趁机逃走，他隐隐看见远处人影绰绰，正是谢虎带着一队八路军追了上来，小刀正要大叫，胜秣的武士刀已经架在了他脖子上……为了保命，小刀连忙指向谢虎等人的方向，并言他知道这里有一个很隐蔽的山洞，可以躲过八路军的追捕。胜秣暂时饶过小刀一命。谢虎等人追到这里，发现小刀留下的中村的指南针。谢虎更加坚定自己的想法，小刀还没有暴露，他们就在这附近。孟营长命令全营战士在这片区域撒网搜捕……根本就不认识路的小刀带着坂原等人在山里兜兜转转，终于找到一处山洞。几名八路军战士找到这里，没等他们发出声音，胜秣等武士的刀已割破了他们的喉咙……
