原本就心虚的国民党外五局局长李义(马君 饰)，因程疯子(李成儒 饰)的事，被记者问的更是心虚。回来才知是手下又从中刮了油水。程疯子终于回来了，被家人搀回来的宝庆始终因被逼对孙新(李大海 饰)先生的不仗不义而痛苦万分，心存愧疚。丁四(杨平友 饰)按照周太太(于小慧 饰)(于小惠 饰)要过大寿的指示又把京剧演员杨喜奎(谭正岩 饰)请到了周府，道后才得知这只是周太太的一个幌子，目的就是想和喜奎走得更近。情急之下，丁四和三喜堂管班想了各种办法救杨喜奎脱身，最终请来了大春(温文 饰)冒充杨喜奎的太太才得以让喜奎脱身。深更半夜发现大春不见了的王大妈(蔡雯艳 饰)，心里很是着急。而大春因以杨太太之名救了杨喜奎而使自己和喜奎的婚事迫在眉睫。得知消息的王大妈经街坊四邻的再三劝说下也无奈接受了事实，决定同意了杨喜奎的提亲。在不远处的三喜堂堂主也为此事和杨喜奎发愁，深知欺骗了周旅长太太的严重性，决定让喜奎和大春假戏真做。杨喜奎连夜赶往龙须沟亲自向王大妈提亲，这边的街里街坊也百般好言相劝，打消王大妈老脑筋的顾虑。喜奎见了王大妈，诚心提亲。但不料骗周太太的事又被邻居孙来喜(祝士彬 饰)听到。周太太这边总觉得事情突然且蹊跷，决定再去派丁四前去打听。孙来喜独自来到了周旅长府前盘问丁四等情况，不料被岗军拒之门外，正巧遇上了路过的国民军外五局警察。一切渐渐浮出水面。
