怡春院的妈妈为了保住自己在八大胡同的产业，劝自己院中红牌妓女和周旅长成亲。妓女开始不同意，但最终无奈答应了妓院的妈妈。国民警察为了袭击美国大兵的事将从车场抓来的小成子给予酷刑并打个半死，但小成子仍不招供，一口应允是自己打的美国大兵，替丁四(杨平友 饰)背了黑锅。龙须沟，程疯子(李成儒 饰)看着自己的娘子天天养活自己心里很是痛苦，决定再出去卖唱，但外面的环境又不能让他唱，这，让疯子更疯了，更烦了。孙来喜(祝士彬 饰)占了对门过气的妓女的便宜又不给钱，说好了拿做棺材的劈柴顶账。大春(温文 饰)又偷偷的去看戏，看赵子龙的戏，王大妈(蔡雯艳 饰)很是生气。冯狗子(孙一理 饰)听了孙来喜的谗言来丁四家以二嘎子(魏翰林 饰)拿回的木门为逆产收账，并威胁以五块现大洋换二嘎子的命。此举吓坏了院里的街坊，难坏了丁四嫂(郑天玮 饰)。冯狗子立下了交捐期，走了人，院里的老小又开始围坐一团商量对策，此时丁四也回来了，全家抱哭成一团，痛苦至极。为了这事，全院听了算卦张先生的忠告，又开始各家各户凑了些钱，忍痛度难关。宝庆的岳母又来到了沟边的小院，来劝自己的女儿程娘子(马以 饰)离开程宝庆离开龙须沟，但被程娘子拒绝了。丁四本以为风平浪静，回到了车场，却发现小成子为他受了难，国民警察把黄三爷(方征 饰)带走想和他以钱换人，黄三爷拒绝了，国民警察的如意算盘落空了。
